WELCOME TO
MS. D'AMICO'S
CULINARY ARTS CLASS
The School For Cooperative Technical Education
Brooklyn, NY 11236
Food connects us, and food is connected to everything. That is what inspired me to teach Culinary Arts at Coop-Tech in Brooklyn. I believe that what we put on our plates reflects our individuality. Our classroom values, and encourages your individual journey into the Food Service Industry.
Culinary Arts is an entry level, one year program that focuses on what you need specifically to gain employment in food service. We cultivate your talent, and pair it with practice and skill. You will have full access to our classroom kitchen where you will begin to understand what it takes to maintain a safe and sanitized workspace. Your imagination will be ignited as you learn how to take basic recipes and create your unique versions. Art, Music, Writing, Math, Science and History all intertwine with the many paths we will travel down discovering flavors, cooking methods, and presentation. Every student has the opportunity to earn their Servsafe Food Safety Certificate, and The NYC Food Handler's Card. Students are prepared for positions in commercial kitchens prepping for chefs and completing other basic tasks before and during meal service. You will realize your potential, and leave work ready!
